Brrrrr!

It is SO cold here! There was definitely no walk around the lake last weekend, as it barely reached 50 degrees! Probably no walks for Emily for a while now. The forecast is pretty frigid for at least the next week. She does look pretty cute in her little hats though. We are all anxiously awaiting daylight saving time in a few weeks.

This weekend her Grandma Jamie and Gran-Dude are coming to visit. We are planning a low key weekend. I know they will be floored with how much she has changed since Christmas when they last saw her. She is rolling over now all the time and sitting up with some help from Mommy and Daddy. This week she found her feet! It is so cute to try and change her diaper and have her start trying to grab her feet, challenging, but cute! We are enjoying every minute of her! Even at 2am this morning when I was feeding her. After she nursed I was holding her and had a hard time puting her back in her crib. I just wanted to watch her sleep.

Love you all!

4 Months Already!

Emily celebrated her 4 month birthday with a trip to the doctor's office. We were just there for her 4 month check-up (which went really well) only to discover strep throat! Of course I felt like the worst mother in the world because the doctor asked me, "Didn't you notice she was fussy or tired?" Seriously, I did not! She is the happiest baby and even over the weekend complete strangers were remarking what a happy baby she is. She is constantly smiling and babbling. I had no idea she was sick.

But... her check-up went fine. She weighs in at 12lbs, 10oz now and is 24.5 inches long. She measured in the 75th percentile across the board. The good part about her being sick was that I had to take the rest of the day off of work to stay home with her. We spent a little extra time together that day. I say only a little extra time because she did take a 4 hour nap that day. Mommy used that time to be productive around the house. I completely cleaned out my fridge and freezer. I mean, I pulled out everything in it and all the shelves to wash them, even the ice maker! I did 3 loads of laundry, washed the duvet cover on our bed (it had spit up on it), changed the sheets on our bed and the guest bedroom, emptied the dishwasher, cleaned the kitchen counters, and mopped the kitchen floor! Then I took a quick nap myself. I just coulddn't believe she slept that long!

We are now getting ready for her first Valentine's Day. We have been wearing outfits with hearts on them all week and have a special outfit all picked out for school on Friday (pictures to follow). Weather permitting, I think we are going to take a stroll on this trail around the lake just outside of town. And we'll definately have breakfast in bed with Daddy. He has been really busy with work lately and needs a little extra rest.

God bless and happy Valentine's Day!
