Hang on Lucy, Lucy hang on!

Ok, so the title might be a little cheesy but we need Lucy to hang on until January! But last weekend we had a little party in her honor. Her mommy, Lawren, really was just glowing! And looking so pretty! We really did appreciate having an excuse to get all the girls together. What a great weekend! Here are some pics.

This was one of my favorite pics from the weekend! When Caroline arrived Saturday morning Emily practically leaped into her arms! She must love her Aunt Caroline. But this face is priceless!!!
Look at her walking all over the place!

Hey, hey, the gang's all here! (almost)
She had so much fun playing with all the boxes and wrapping paper. It was a preview of Christmas and it's going to be fun!
After the party I took the girls to my favorite restaurant in town, a local Italian place around the corner. Although we may not be the wild party animals we use to be, we did close the place down sitting around drinking wine and telling stories. Good times!

Sunday morning I got my second favorite picture! Caroline and I slept on the air mattress and when we woke up, Emily and Maggie got in some cuddle time with their favorite Aunt Caroline!
Below are a few shots of my craftiness. Who knew! Just call me Martha.

Look what she can do now!!!

So the moment finally came and I realized that I have shared this with precious few people. Our little girl is finally walking!!! And I don't mean one or two steps here or there. I mean truckin' it across our living room, turning around, and running back. Some people have asked me when she started walking. Here's the thing, she started taking steps by herself about 2 months ago. Everyone told me once she takes those first steps it won't be long until she's running. Well that was a big fat lie. She toyed with the idea of walking forever. She could practically run if she was holding on your finger but as soon as you let go, down she went. I think her turning point was 2 weeks ago when we went to see her big cousins Hayden and Natalie. I think she saw them running around and had her own little epiphany. I know every kid walks eventually, but I still feel so proud each time I see her walk across the room. She makes my heart smile!

A Day in the Park

This weekend we went to Montevallo to visit family. We still hadn't met Leslie's baby girl, Ellie. And us girls had a full day of shopping planned for Saturday at Christmas Village. But on Friday afternoon we took 3 rambunctious kids and one sleepy newborn to the park to play. It was the most beautiful day at the park. And this park in Montevallo was the prettiest park ever! A rolling green field, a creek with wood bridge and a col play area with 3 side by side slides. Those kids had the best time!
I got this picture after Hayden said "I just love the view from up here."

A local man comes and carves into the trees around the park.

These side-by-side slides were awesome. No taking turns, and everybody got to race!
Immediately following this picture Leslie yelled, "Oh, I forgot to catch Emily!" So funny. Luckily no one was hurt.

Isn't this the most beautiful baby! People pay good money for lips like these!
This was so much fun to watch. Hayden and Dave throwing around the football and Maggie chasing Hayden. I took some video and as soon as I stopped taping Hayden said, "Phew, that was a good play." That kid cracks me up.

This one was after Emily woke up from her nap. That is the BEST bedhead I have ever seen!

Saturday while us girls were at Christmas Village Dave took Hayden to the McWane Science Center to see the train exhibit. They couldn't leave without buying a souvenir.
I seriously love this baby girl! Sweet Mary Elaine (Ellie).

Happy Halloween!!!

My sweet Tinkerbell!!!
Halloween started on Friday for us. This year Dave and I went to our first costume party since we were in college. Crazy, I know. But we had a great time. We went as Tommie and Ami Coley, another couple from our church. OK, so it's not so funny if you don't know Tommie and Ami, but they are the kindest, wackiest, funniest people who run our children's ministry at church. They have very "distinct" styles that were SO easy to copy. Ami is known to "Rock your sox off." I tried to find a pic of the originals, but no luck! Let's just say it was such a good costume that both Dave and I got mistaken for the original and we won the couples costume contest!

Then Saturday night we took Emily out trick-or-treating. She really seemed to enjoy it. We went to visit our friends Chloe and Austin first, then went around our neighborhood. She loved seeing all the other kids out and about and Daddy's Jason mask didn't scare her a bit. Actually, she laughed at him. My sweet, fearless child. Here are a few pics from the evening. Happy Halloween everyone!

Now time to clean up!
