After a longer than expected stay at Williamson Memorial Hospital, we were finally headed home. Originally we thought we might be able to come home the Monday after little man was born, but after some disappointments we found out that we'd have to wait til Tuesday. Luckily my doctor worked it out so that I would be able to stay as long as Daniel so I would have to leave without him. You know there were some water works going on when I thought I might have to go home without my baby in my arms. :(
But finally Tuesday morning rolled around. Dave and I were so anxious to get Daniel and get out of dodge that I think we were both holding our breath a little all morning. We figured the way hospitals move we would be there until the late afternoon. But thankfully the NICU nurses came to our rescue again. By 11:30 am DOC was strapped into his carseat (non too happy about that I might add). One of our favorite nurses Ms. Amanda generously provided 3 packs of diapers and wipes from the hospital staff as a going away present for us and helped us out to the car. HOORAY!!!
After a quick stop at Chick-fil-A, we came home to this awesome welcome party! :)
It was a quiet first day home, but like any good mother, I harassed my children with a photo session. :) It's in my blood, I can't help myself. We ate our waffle fries and just enjoyed all being together under one roof. It's good to be home.
Our super helper, Grandma Dee!
